Viswanathan went on to pursue his undergraduate and master's degrees in computer science with a focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning at Stanford University. During his time at Stanford, he completed product management internships at Facebook, Google, and Microsoft. He also created Fountainhop, a campus events platform that was widely used at Stanford and other colleges across the country.
Career
Viswanathan co-founded Down To Lunch, a social hangout iPhone app, with Joseph Lau. The app quickly gained popularity and rose to become the number one app in the App Store social category and number two overall. Down To Lunch was featured in prominent publications such as The New York Times, Forbes, and Business Insider.
After the success of Down To Lunch, Viswanathan and Lau went on to found Alchemy, a blockchain company that powers 4 million users in 200 countries per week. Alchemy has received significant backing from high-profile investors such as Stanford University, Samsung, Pantera Capital, Coinbase, the Google Chairman, Charles Schwab, Jay Z, Reid Hoffman, and many others.
Viswanathan also created Check In To My Flight, a website that allowed travelers to automatically check into their Southwest Airlines flight. However, he had to shut down the site after receiving a Cease and Desist letter from Southwest Airlines.
In recognition of his impressive achievements, Viswanathan was named one of Forbes' 30 Under 30 honorees in January 2017.
Personal Life
Viswanathan grew up and attended high school in Lubbock, Texas. At Lubbock High, he graduated with the highest GPA in the school's history.
