Michael Saylor Proposed to Cristiano Ronaldo to Make a Bitcoin Collection
The Portuguese soccer player is no stranger to cryptocurrencies, and Bitcoin maximalist Michael Sailor suggests he could be rooting for the industry.
Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo may create his own Bitcoin collection. At least, he may be considering it, as a prominent figure in the crypto industry, Michael Saylor, has publicly suggested that Ronaldo get a foothold in the world of Bitcoin investing.
Saylor's suggestion was in response to the soccer player's post on X, showing off a new watch in a joint collaboration with Jacob & Co. Ronaldo has not yet responded to the bitcoin maximalist's proposal, but in today's realities, such a teasing comment in response to his post could very well be true.
Moreover, Saylor is serious, as he regularly offers the leading cryptocurrency to various powerful individuals and often speaks out about Bitcoin as a good investment.
Sports and the crypto industry are often trying to find a crossroads lately. While many soccer teams in Europe are actively negotiating sponsorships with cryptocurrency companies and exchanges right now, Ronaldo has long been making moves in the digital asset space. Back in 2022, he launched an NFT collection called “CR7” in a joint collaboration with Binance. And despite a $1 billion lawsuit related to the promotion of the collection, the soccer player released the fourth collection in the series in May this year.
And now, after Sailor's offer, some fans are eager to know how many Bitcoins Ronaldo is holding. Interestingly, the soccer player received several Bitcoins as part of the same deal with Binance. The specific amount of such a gift is unknown, as well as whether the player continued to invest in Bitcoin or hurriedly got rid of it.
Many celebrities are involved in advertising campaigns or NFT projects, but this does not always mean that they are actively investing in cryptocurrencies. Probably after a billion-dollar lawsuit, the soccer player will probably not want to respond to Saylor's offer.
