100,000 LayerZero Users Turned Out to Be Sybils
LayerZero Labs said that about 100,000 users voluntarily admitted that they were bumping activity to increase airdrop rewards.
LayerZero Labs CEO Bryan Pellegrino said that about 100,000 users turned out to be sybils, which they self-confessed to.

After the team suspected some users of racking up activity to increase rewards on the ZRO token airdrop, it offered unscrupulous participants to confess by May 17. For this purpose, the developers have implemented a mechanism that will allow such addresses to get 15% of the airdrop, or else they will get nothing.
It didn't take long to get a reaction, and by this point about 100,000 users had already confessed to having spiked activity. Pellegrino, meanwhile, noted the importance of the metrics, as he believes it will encourage the rest of the unscrupulous participants to come clean.
"Can’t wait to see what it yields," he emphasized.
On May 1, the project team took a snapshot of addresses claiming airdrop: it was found that 6 million unique wallet addresses interacted with LayerZero.
