MetalCore to launch Ethereum token alongside the third phase this week
Studio369, the creative force behind the futuristic mech warfare game MetalCore, has unveiled plans to introduce an Ethereum-based token this week. This launch coincides with the initiation of the game's third closed beta phase, which will bring fresh gameplay modes and economic functionalities to the blockchain-powered title.
Commencing on June 27, the latest testing phase for MetalCore, known as Closed Beta 3 (CB3), will showcase competitive player-vs-player esports features. These include game formats such as Domination, Capture the Flag, and High-Value Target. Additionally, this phase introduces communal social areas linked to factions and the option for players to acquire digital in-game items using traditional currency.
Following this, on June 28, Studio369 is set to orchestrate the creation of the MCG token within Ethereum’s primary network and the Immutable zkEVM, MetalCore's foundational layer-2 scalability solution.
The game's earlier beta stage attracted an audience of 124,000 individuals on the waitlist and 50,000 active participants, who, on average, dedicated 10 hours to playing. Access to CB 3 is available to returning players with an Epic Games Store key or through the purchase of one of the five tiers of Founders Packs.
These packages offer a variety of in-game components. A spokesperson for MetalCore clarified that these in-game assets would take the form of NFTs, though the Epic Games Store access key itself would not be a tokenized item.
