Scroll and Layer3 Invites Users to Take Part in the Quest

Scroll, a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum, has launched a quest together with Layer3. The quest comprises three simple tasks that primarily aim to familiarize users with the the Scroll ecosystem and increase the chance to be eligible for a potential airdrop.

The quest tasks include: transferring ETH (Ether) from Goerli to Scroll Alpha Testnet, answering a question about Ethereum's values, and performing a swap of any token quantity in Scroll Testnet via SyncSwap. While the transfer of ETH is optional for users who already have ETH on Scroll Alpha Testnet, the other tasks offer a hands-on experience of the platform's functionalities. This entire activity is free for those who already possess ETH on Goerli and it takes mere minutes to perform, though the swap might take up to ten minutes to complete.

Scroll is designed to increase Ethereum's capacity and performance. The heart of the system is the zkEVM (zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine), used to prove the accuracy of EVM execution in Layer 2.

The zkEVM is a virtual machine capable of executing smart contract transactions in a manner compatible with both zk proof computations and Ethereum's existing infrastructure.

Scroll's present architecture comprises of three infrastructure components: the Scroll Node, the Roller Network, and Rollup and Bridge Contracts. The Scroll Node constructs L2 blocks from user transactions, commits them to the Ethereum base layer, and facilitates message exchange between L1 and L2. The Roller Network generates zkEVM validity proofs to ensure correct transaction execution, while Rollup and Bridge Contracts offer data availability for Scroll transactions, verify zkEVM validity proofs, and enable users to transfer assets between Ethereum and Scroll.

To this date, Scroll secured $80 million in its latest funding round, bringing its valuation to a  $1.8 billion. Among the investors were Polychain Capital, Sequoia China, Bain Capital Crypto, Moore Capital Management, Newman Capital, and IOSG Ventures.

Scroll offers continued opportunities for users to interact with the testnet and potentially increase their eligibility for a prospective Scroll airdrop. For more information, please refer to our dedicated review.
