Telegram Game Catizen Postpones Airdrop
The popular mini-game Catizen is delaying airdrop. The team is still working on a token release plan.
Following Hamster Kombat, another popular minigame, Catizen, is delaying the airdrop of its CATI token. The team originally planned to release the token in July. The development team was supposed to launch the token on the TON blockchain, but admitted to having problems.
They acknowledged that the community was disappointed. The team also wrote that canceling airdrop was a difficult decision for them. Still, the developers are committed to getting the best outcome for the community, given the long-term nature of CATI.
The team added that to extend the restriction to team members, initial round investors and advisors. This restriction ensures that they won't be able to access tokens until 12 months after launch, and then their tokens will be gradually distributed over the next 48 months.
Earlier this month, Catizen donated $100,000 to the non-profit organization PETA to help homeless cats. However, the game's community criticized the move, as the organization has faced controversy in the past regarding the euthanasia of animals. The Catizen team immediately responded by suspending their partnership with them.
The game developer has previously entered into partnerships with Binance Labs and The Open Platform (TOP). The game is among the most popular on Telegram. Its decision to postpone airdrop followed a similar decision by another game, Hamster Kombat. Like Hamster Kombat, the Catizen team cites the challenging technical aspect of the event. Catizen is busy optimizing elements of the listing, from engaging exchanges to regulatory compliance.
