Telegram games ‘Tapswap’ and ‘Yescoin’ to launch tokens on TON
Initially, it was Notcoin grabbing headlines for unleashing the largest gaming token of 2024, swiftly followed by the buzz around Hamster Kombat, which expanded on the Telegram clicker game genre through an upcoming token airdrop. Presently, two emerging Telegram-based games have unveiled intentions to migrate their ventures to The Open Network (TON), signaling impending token debuts.
In revelations made on Thursday, Tapswap and Yescoin—both accessible as mini apps within the Telegram app—disclosed their plans to initiate launches on TON.
For those who engaged with Notcoin before its “mining phase” concluded in April preceding the token's release, Tapswap presents a familiar mechanism. It revolves around a similar concept where players tap a golden coin on their smartphones via the Telegram mini app, accruing in-game currency for both upgrades and future cryptocurrency token airdrops.
Tapswap, which has about 50 million players, initially offered integration with Solana wallets, but on Thursday announced a strategic move to TON, explaining that the thoughtful move represents an optimal strategy to improve the experience for its ever-expanding user base.
On the other hand, Yescoin introduces a varied twist to the Telegram clicker game format. Participants accumulate in-game coins through screen swipes, all wrapped in a charming lo-fi pixel design, while using coins for various upgrades and bonuses.
Teasing a significant partnership recently, Yescoin declared on Thursday via its Telegram channel its collaboration with TON, hinting at an upcoming “YES” token ticker.
TON shared that in just over a month, Yescoin has successfully gathered around 18 million users, as an increasing number of Telegram enthusiasts dive into crypto-earning games on the app.
Hamster Kombat, a quirky game that advances the clicker model by allowing players to operate a crypto exchange as an adorable hamster, proclaimed in late May its intentions to debut a token on TON. Since then, it has reported remarkable expansion, with the creators claiming a community surpassing 100 million players, all eagerly anticipating a token release slated for July.
