Experts Warn of Massive Phishing Attacks on TON Ecosystem
Recently, the TON ecosystem has been subjected to massive phishing attacks, jeopardizing the continued growth of the coin's price.
The analytics company SlowMist has noticed an increase of phishing attacks on the TON blockchain, as it wrote on its X. The founder of SlowMist emphasized that the problem lies in the fact that TON is too free network, so it is easy for scammers to spread their phishing links and even bots through channels and messages to swindle users out of their funds.
Scammers can also access their phone numbers linked to their Telegram account, so experts recommend connecting 2FA.
The TON ecosystem has been growing rapidly recently. Telegram recently introduced the Stars payment system, and a little earlier, Tether and TON announced a strategic partnership. Such security issues could negatively affect the further development of the ecosystem and the price dynamics of the native token.
Most recently, TON managed to reach an all-time high of $8.2, setting the tone for further growth to $10. However, the coin has fallen in value by 6% over the past week. At the time of writing, the asset is trading at $7.24.
