Saga Launches Mainnet And Ends Airdrop
The Saga gaming network, made popular by the play-to-airdrop concept, goes mainnet in April and ends token airdrop.
March 27 marks the end of play-to-airdrop applications for Saga, as the major gaming network prepares to enter the mainnet. Since December 2023, Saga had been running a play-to-airdrop campaign that rewarded players, stakers, and NFT holders.

By participating in certain games on the network, users could receive free SAGA tokens. In addition to utilizing the Saga network, players could interact with Solana and Avalanche-based games and also receive tokens. NFT owners from the Bored Ape Yacht Club, CryptoPunks, or Bad Kids collections also recently had a chance to airdrop.
In addition, Celestia, Avalanche and Polygon tokens were eligible for SAGA tokens. More than 200,000 unique addresses received their SAGAs in the first two phases of the distribution.
Gaming network Saga is holding the airdrop as one of the phases to attract more users, as the network aims to become a launchpad for blockchain gaming that could complement other layer one networks. In total, about 60 million tokens will be distributed. As it turns out, not all users with Airdrop rights have received their tokens yet.
The developers also announced the creation of Saga Origins, a separate division for creating blockchain games.
