ZKsync Clarified Controversial Aspects Regarding Airdrop
Back on June 11, the ZKsync team announced the launch of airdrop and released the corresponding criteria, which instantly caused a wave of discontent among the community. In one of the latest messages, the team hurriedly clarified the controversial aspects of the upcoming airdrop.
Users were given a chance to check their addresses for eligibility. However, they found that some addresses falling under airdrop had zero transaction history. In other words, they have never interacted with the ZKsync protocol. The project allocated 105.8 million coins to such addresses.
Another reason for discontent was the lack of transparency. However, the bulk of resentment was directed at the unfair distribution of tokens and the weak actions against sybils on the part of the project. Initially, ZK Nation denied the information about the ineffective fight against sybils, and then stated that many users are happy with the results of the project's token distribution, and everything else is just misinformation.
Today, however, the team decided to give a more detailed answer to the controversial points of the upcoming airdrop. It explained that the criterion with protocol interaction was optional, so that's why there were so many addresses with zero transactions.
When asked why some users received more tokens and others less, the team said that this figure was determined by how many assets were sent to the ZKsync Era network and how long they were held.
Airdrop was allocated 17.5% of the entire ZK offering. 89% of this amount would go to users, with 11% going to individual contributors and developers who contributed to the project. The Degen and Bonsai, Crypto The Game, Pudgy and Milady communities were allocated 2.8%.
The volume of transactions does not affect the size of airdrop. The counts were based on the number of criteria met, deposit volume, and multiplier.
Overall, the team emphasized that they were not going to recalculate, as they did not identify any major issues.
