Ryan studied computer science and engineering at Princeton.
Career
He learned about Bitcoin in college but became truly interested in cryptocurrency and Ethereum before its launch. In 2016, he contributed code to a few public repositories and started a New Orleans meetup group before being hired by the Ethereum Foundation.
In 2020, Ryan was instrumental in coordinating and pushing developers for the Ethereum 2.0 launch. He oversaw the release of multiple testnets and completed audits sucsessfully, while also investigating and fixing significant issues with participation and client bugs. The Ethereum 2.0 launch was successful on Dec. 1, marking a significant milestone in Ryan's career.
Ryan also contributed to implementing cutting-edge sharding technology in Ethereum as well as to transition of the existing Ethereum blockchain to proof-of-stake in the event known as the "Merge"
