Elon Musk's Neuralink has implanted a chip into the human brain for the first time. The patient is recovering, and the chip has already produced incredible results. How did the Neuralink token react?
This Sunday, Neuralink implanted a chip into the human brain for the first time, as announced by Elon Musk on his X. Last year, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized the company to conduct the first human trial of its implant. Neuralink's goal was to help patients overcome paralysis and other neurological conditions. Last September, the company also received approval to recruit participants for the trial.

Initial results show promising neuron spike detection.
The surgery involved implanting a BCI chip into the part of the brain responsible for the intention to move. Previously, the company said that the initial goal is to enable people to control a computer cursor or keyboard with their thoughts alone.
The new product is called Telepathy, which has already shown promising neuron spike detection, something Musk also mentioned on his X. The global goal of the new chip will be symbiosis with artificial intelligence, but for now the company is limited to helping paralyzed people.
Meanwhile, the cryptocurrency market's reaction was not long in coming. The company-inspired and eponymous token Neuralink rose by 4,411% amid the news. Data from dextools shows that the market capitalization of the NEURALINK coin is $2.21 million. There are 1 million units of the coin in circulation and 1,110 holders. Dogecoin reacted with a slight rise of 0.33% in the last 24 hours.
NEURALINK has nothing to do with Musk or his company. Increasingly, coins inspired by or bearing the names of industry figures are popping up on the cryptocurrency market. Often their creators choose such a marketing strategy to attract more people to the community and influence the growth of the asset. Another prime example is meme coin, named after Musk's AI chatbot GROK, which grew by more than 650% in just 24 hours. This jump came after Musk announced the development of his own AI called Grok. Earlier, we wrote about how MAGA (TRUMP), a token inspired by Donald Trump but unrelated to him, jumped 15,000% on the back of Trump's campaign victories.
