Linea's Voyage: A 9-Week Journey to Explore and Enhance the Ethereum Ecosystem
Linea a Ethereum-based Layer 2 solution collaborates with Galxe for an Engaging 9-Week Campaign under its testnet.
In March 2023, Linea, formerly known as ConsenSys zkEVM, sparked the public's attention when it released its public testnet on MetaMask, a move which now allows Chrome users around the globe to explore the Linea ecosystem. A detailed guide on how to participate in testnet can be found here.
To further celebrate this milestone, Linea also recently launched the 'Linea Voyage' campaign, a nine-week interactive experience developed in partnership with Galxe.
Over the course of the campaign, Linea will release a series of weekly challenges. These challenges alternate between weeks focusing on on-chain activities and others incorporating quizzes, polls, and off-chain tasks to enhance users' understanding of Linea's vision.
The Voyage is designed to give users a perspective on the potential of a Layer 2 network and, the role they can play in scaling Ethereum at the protocol layer. As the project is currently in testnet, the reduced stakes are expected to motivate newcomers to dive in and explore the ecosystem.
Through this campaign, participants can earn points towards a unique set of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) by actively exploring the Linea ecosystem and helping the engineering team refine the testnet. The points will be tracked on a live leaderboard by Galxe. At the end of the Voyage, participants will be eligible to mint a commemorative "proof of contribution" NFT based on their leaderboard ranking.
Linea has hinted at a possible airdrop, with users who actively test the protocol more likely to be eligible. Participation in the Linea Voyage may also serve as a pathway to maximize potential airdrop opportunities.
Linea was developed by ConsenSys — the team behind MetaMask. Linea provides an environment similar to the Ethereum, but with lower transaction fees. Linea aims to promote a deeper understanding and widespread adoption of its technology — a type 2 zero knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM). Linea's zkEVM brings together the advantages of zero-knowledge proofs and full Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatibility. This blend allows developers to either build scalable dapps from scratch or migrate existing ones without the need of altering codes or rewriting smart contracts.Additionally, Linea is built to be highly user-friendly and adaptable, offering robust scalability to developers. Its structure ensures that users do not require specialized knowledge in zero-knowledge technology to build on a zkEVM.
After successfully raising around $726 million in multiple funding rounds, Linea has been valued at a staggering $7 billion.
