TON Ecosystem Will Have a Hub for Memecoins
Developers at The Open Network have unveiled the Memelandia hub to run memecoins on the TON blockchain.
Memelandia will be part of The Open League initiative to attract more users to the ecosystem. Developers can now create memecoins on the TON network without coding skills: they can use ready-made open-source templates to do so.
In addition to creating a memecoin project, developers also have a chance to create a mini-app in Telegram, giving memecoin more utility.
The Open Network team is launching Memelandia with the aim of supporting projects that really deserve attention. In its announcement, the team cited the notorious Telegram game Notcoin as an example, which is preparing to release its token this week.
The Open Network ecosystem continues to actively evolve. While Pavel Durov is preparing to announce "the first, real and valuable use case for TON, which will be available to all 900 million active Telegram users" at the Token2049 conference in Dubai, it has been reported that blockchain developers plan to reduce transaction fees on the network. It is also rumored that a joint speech by Durov and Tether head Paolo Ardoino at the conference will focus on the integration of USDT into the TON blockchain.
In an interview with Tucker Carlson, Pavel Durov talked about the idea of creating cryptocurrency-based devices for private communication. The idea followed in response to troubling clashes with the U.S. government, highlighting the vulnerability of privacy in the digital age. Durov shared that during his time in the U.S., he repeatedly encountered FBI agents trying to establish connections to control the messenger.
Over the past month, TON has grown by 83%, reaching a record high of $7.7. The coin also entered the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, surpassing Cardano and Dogecoin. This significant growth of the coin is primarily due to the integration of TON into Telegram, where the messenger launched an advertising revenue sharing system that pays out money exclusively in TON.
