MetaMask now lets users launch crypto games
The eminent Ethereum wallet MetaMask has unveiled a feature enabling users to initiate games directly through its MetaMask Portfolio dashboard, courtesy of a fresh partnership with the cryptocurrency gaming storefront HyperPlay.
This collaboration introduces a specialized games catalog within MetaMask Portfolio, a decentralized application (dapp) designed for managing wallet assets and interacting with other applications. This integration simplifies the process for users to discover and engage in MetaMask-compatible blockchain games offered through HyperPlay.
This advancement leverages HyperPlay's earlier efforts to synergize with MetaMask, encompassing a wallet interface enhancement and extending support to non-Ethereum blockchains such as Solana and Sui via MetaMask Snaps—a functionality that enables the addition of community-created features.
HyperPlay stands as a pioneering digital gaming outlet and launcher, with a keen focus on blockchain-powered games. Its library boasts prominent games like Shrapnel, The Sandbox, Apeiron, and Square Enix’s Symbiogenesis. It's noteworthy that Square Enix, the company behind the legendary Final Fantasy series, counts itself among HyperPlay's investors, along with MetaMask's parent entity Consensys and others.
