Omni Network Launches Testnet to Connect Ethereum's Rollups
Omni Network, a layer 1 blockchain designed to consolidate Ethereum's rollups, has recently unveiled its testnet and associated social tasks. The testnet launch gives the community the first opportunity to employ the Omni infrastructure and applications built on it.
As the network expands, users can anticipate the rollout of fresh features and products. The project has not announced any tokens or airdrops yet, but the recent developments may be a strong indication that such plans are on the horizon. So early adopters may increase thier airdrop elligibility by performing activities.
Early users are invited to engage with the network and perform certain tasks on the Galxe platform, which includes connecting a wallet to Omni Network's Galxe page and following their Twitter and Discord channels. After completing these tasks, users can claim their OAT tokens.
In addition, the Omni Network offers a second round of OAT tokens for completing further tasks on Galxe. These include becoming an Omni Network Space User and performing any transaction on the Optimism chain. Completion of these tasks offers access to the Omni Network testnet.
The Omni Network's testnet faucet allows users to get testnet tokens. Once these tokens are secured, users can connect their wallets to the Omni testnet network and stake their $OMNI tokens. Staking rewards can be claimed on the platform, with earnings expressed in $MEME tokens.
Furthermore, the Omni Network's Zealy Questboard offers additional tasks to complete, such as following their social pages, inviting friends to join Omni, and answering quizzes.
Omni Network's foundation rests on EigenLayer technology, connecting all of Ethereum's rollups to form a layer 1 blockchain. This innovative system enables developers to build applications accessible across all rollups, simplifying the development process. Omni's unique design and purpose bridges the gap in Ethereum's rollup centric roadmap.
Omni also simplifies the process of building cross-rollup applications. It establishes a unified global state layer through EigenLayer's restaking to manage cross-domain applications, ensuring access to liquidity and users across all ecosystems. As an EVM-compatible blockchain, Omni allows developers to effortlessly port applications from Ethereum and other EVM-based chains.
Omni Network has successfully secured $18 million in funding, with contributors including Pantera Capital, Two Sigma Ventures, Jump Crypto, Hashed, and The Spartan Group. The network's core technology partner has been revealed as Eigenlayer, with the first rollup teams including Arbitrum, Polygon Labs, StarkWare Ltd, Scroll ZKP, and Linea.
